The Challenge
The goal was to create a Japanese head spa that went beyond the ordinary salon experience, a space that would transport guests into a calm, immersive world of ritual and relaxation.
Our Approach
We drew inspiration from traditional Japanese design, using rich tactile materials and carefully considered moody lighting to evoke stillness and depth. Guests are welcomed with a traditional yukata robe and guided through a sensory journey via a zen corridor featuring room signs named after regions in Tokyo. The softly lit treatment rooms lined with silk wallpaper, feature reclining chairs that pivot seamlessly for massage, after which guests are taken to the serene post treatment lounge serving tea near a zen garden. Every detail, from the styling bar to the trichologist consultation suite, was designed to balance craft, culture and calm and create a considered customer experience.
