We are hiring a Senior Interior Designer.

FULL TIME/ PART TIME

The Role

Our studio is growing and we are seeking a Senior Interior Designer with approx 7-10 years experience in hospitality, retail, wellness design. This role is ideal for a confident designer ready to take greater ownership of projects, managing projects from end to end, coordinate consultants and contribute meaningfully to studio growth while working closely with the Director. We are looking for the right fit to join our team. This role is about alignment, capability and shared ambition. We’re open to full time or part time for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from concept through to documentation and delivery

  • Develop creative and commercially strategic design solutions

  • Prepare and oversee detailed documentation packages

  • Ensure compliance with BCA and relevant Australian Standards

  • Coordinate consultants including town planners, access consultants, services engineers and other specialists

  • Assist in managing development application documentation and approvals

  • Manage project timelines across multiple projects

  • Liaise confidently with clients, consultants and contractors

  • Lead client presentations and communicate design intent clearly

  • Support team members and contribute to a positive studio culture

  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement

Skills and Experience

  • 7-10 years experience in hospitality and retail design

  • Strong understanding of BCA and Australian Standards

  • Strong design skills from conceptualising, space planning through to FFE

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Strong construction knowledge

  • Experience coordinating consultants and supporting development applications

  • Understanding of project budgets/ construction costs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Confident presentation skills and ability to articulate design rationale

  • Highly organised with strong time management capability

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Agile and adaptable across multiple project stages

  • Proactive and solutions focused mindset

  • Experience mentoring junior designers preferred

Technical Skills

  • Revit preferred

  • AutoCAD

  • SketchUp

  • InDesign

  • Photoshop

  • Strong documentation capability

  • Qualifications

  • A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, along with relevant work experience in retail, hospitality, wellness projects.

Sustainability

Experience with sustainability frameworks preferred, or a strong interest and willingness to upskill and undertake training.
